Rowan rEcycler's Trash To Treasure Projects!

Introducing the

JUNKYARD DOGS

The West Rowan Middle School Students set forth on a project to enter into the school competition that was held at Watagaua High School in Boone, NC on March 8th, 2008. With the help of some wonderful folks on Rowan rEcycle gifting them a battery, lawn mower tires, paint, trolling motor, riding lawn mower, axles, etc. they were able to put together an electric car, all from recycled materials! Trash to Treasure at it's best!
Shown below are photos.

CONGRATULATIONS!
to the West Rowan Middle School students for taking 3rd place!

The finished project.

A note from Sherry:
The kids went to competition and they walked away with a trophey for the school and 3rd place medals.
They also got the sportsmanship medal too. This has truly been an adventure and considering they almost got disqualified for the type of battery they used I think they did an awesome job.
We couldn't have made it without the help of Rowan Recycle.

Thanks,
Sherry

The beginning stages.

We are not to throw away those things which can benefit our neighbor. Goods are called good because they can be used for good:
they are instruments for good, in the hands of those who use them properly.
