Bringing Rowan County Together since July 15,2004




Being avid recyclers ourselves, we realize sometimes recycling does take a lot of effort; responding to emails,
arranging pick up, etc. So, we try to put some FUN into the group by occasionally holding recycled costume contests, surprise gift certificate drawings, surprise gift baskets... just to name a few.
This is just a small way for us to say "Thank You" for your efforts and to put back into the community.

There appears to be a deeply embedded uneasiness in our culture about throwing away junk that can be reused. Perhaps, in part, it is guilt about consumption. Perhaps it also feels unnatural. Mother Nature doesn't throw stuff away. Dead trees, birds, beetles and elephants are pretty quickly recycled by the system.
