man's trash is
another man's
treasure".
Rowan rEcycle's goal is to make it easy for those who live in Salisbury,
Rowan County NC and the surrounding areas to find new homes for
perfectly good items that they no longer have a use for; clothing, baby items, furniture, appliances, sports equipment, computers, books, etc..
Rowan rEcycle is an on-line organization which practices the concept of
reducing the load being dumped into our county landfills. Roughly
estimated just for the month of July 2007 over 6,750 pounds of goods were placed
into new homes. That is over 3 tons
of tangible items that did NOT go into the Rowan County landfill and an
outstanding number for a small group of committed citizens doing their
part for the environment by recycling!
Rowan
rEcycle allows for personal
contact between donor and recipient
(via Yahoo! email listserv); each gets exactly what
they want,
and for free. One makes an OFFER post and has that wonderful feeling of reclaiming their living space and that good feeling of helping another while the other is ever so grateful for receiving an item they have been searching for.

maybe you have been searching for something? Wanted posts are another
form of recycling, an Offer turned inside out. They are a very
important part of the recycling community as they jog one's mind that
they just may have
that item sitting in a corner collecting dust.
A big added plus to
this is;
lasting friendships are being made throughout the Rowan County
community on a weekly basis!
